The National Maritime Museum of Korea had it’s inauguration on July, 2012 and exhibits more than 12,000 maritime relics, including the ‘Joseon Missional Ship’ which is the largest replica in South Korea - half the size of the actual ship. It is Korea's only comprehensive maritime museum, showcasing professional exhibits that encompass all aspects of the ocean, including culture, history, science, marine life, and marine resources. The museum also offers high-quality maritime experience programs.
Taejongdae is one of Busan’s most renowned coastal spots, featuring stunning sea cliffs formed by wave erosion, a wave-cut terrace, and coastal caves. These geological features originated from sedimentary layers deposited in a lake during the late Cretaceous period and later shaped by rising sea levels. From the observatory, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the sea, and on clear days, even see the Japanese Tsushima Island in the distance.
At Songdo Peninsula, visitors can explore a diverse array of rock formations, including basalt and intrusive rhyolite, alongside fascinating geological features such as dinosaur bones, egg nest fossils, calcic paleosols, dikes, mineral veins, faults, and ripple marks. The Busan Air Cruise, spanning 1.62 km at a height of 86 meters above the sea, offers a ride across Songdo’s coastal waters, providing stunning views of the ocean and shoreline.

Bulguksa Temple is a prime example of Buddhist doctrines beautifully embodied in temple architecture, making it a representative symbol of Korean Buddhism. Through the numerous cultural heritages within Bulguksa Temple, visitors can see not only the stonework skills of the ancient Silla people, but also glimpse the Buddhist culture of the era. Recognized for its historical and cultural significance, Bulguksa Temple was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 1995.
Seokguram Grotto, constructed between 751 and 774 AD, is regarded as the pinnacle of artistic and architectural achievement during the golden age of the Silla Dynasty. This cultural masterpiece is a heritage that comprehensively embodies architecture, mathematics, geometry, religion, and art. Recognized for its exceptional significance, Seokguram was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 1995.
The Gyeongju National Museum, located in Gyeongju, the thousand-year capital of the ancient Silla Kingdom on the Korean Peninsula, is a representative museum for exploring Silla’s cultural heritage. The museum excavates, studies, preserves, and exhibits artifacts from Gyeongju and its surrounding regions, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the rich history and culture of the area.
Daereungwon refers to the royal tomb complex of kings, queens, and nobles of the ancient Silla Kingdom on the Korean Peninsula. Due to their unique construction techniques, these tombs were highly resistant to looting, leaving most of the artifacts intact. Through the unearthed relics, we can guess not only the items used by the Silla people, but also their exchanges with other countries.
