All foreign visitors wishing to enter the Republic of Korea must have a valid passport, with some visitors being required to obtain a Korean visa before their departure. Below are 111 countries whose citizens may temporarily enter without a visa according to visa exemption agreements (Table 1), or in accordance with principles of reciprocity or national interest (Table 2).

K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization)

Nationals of countries/regions eligible for visa-free entry are required to get K-ETA approval before boarding the flight or ship. K-ETA approval must be applied for at least 72 hours prior to boarding the inbound flight. You can apply for K-ETA via the official website (www.k-eta.go.kr) or mobile app (K-ETA). The following individuals are exempt from the K-ETA requirement.

Notice on Exemption of K-ETA

As of 3 July 2023, travelers who are 17 years old and under or 65 years old and over (based on the date of entry) are exempt from the K-ETA requirement.

Notice on Temporary Exemption of K-ETA for 22 countries/regions

Travelers from the 22 countries/regions listed below are currently exempt from the K-ETA requirement during the period from 1 April 2023 to 31 December 2025.
